Optimizing Profits:
5 Most Important Marketing Metrics

According to a Direct Marketing Association (DMA) study, the most important metrics to measure marketing effectiveness (both online and offline) are:

1) Sales

2) Leads

3) Revenues

4) Response Rates

5) Profits

Among the least important: brand awareness and perception.

The study found that email and Websites had highest ROI. The lowest ROI was mobile marketing.

In 2010, we have seen an increase in social media marketing and mobile marketing effectiveness.

Be sure to track and measure the above metrics and make adjustments for monthly and quarterly drop-offs.
